MICROCHIPPING CATS BECOMES A LEGAL REQUIREMENT FROM 10TH JUNE 2024

Microchipping is a quick procedure involving the implantation of a chip under the skin between the shoulder blades.  Each microchip has a unique number which is registered on a large database, alongside the details of the owner of the pet that has had the chip implanted.  This then means that if the pet should go missing, or be taken in to any vets or rescue environment, it will be much easier to reunite the pet with their owner.

From June 10th this year, a change in law means it will become a legal requirement for cat owners to have their cats chipped, just as it is with dogs.  We are therefore running a microchipping event this weekend (7th and 8th), where the procedure will be half price and cost just £10!  This will include implantation and registration and will mean it will all be done in time for the changes on Monday.  The event is also for dogs and rabbits too!
